• Corps presents possible Isabella Lake Dam fixes

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District released the Isabella Lake Dam Safety Modification Study’s draft environmental impact statement March 16 for public review. The document outlines and evaluates proposed actions to address known risks at Isabella Lake’s two dams and their effects on the environment, natural resources and daily life of affected residents.
  • Success Lake recreation area to close until May 25

    Success Lake near Porterville will temporarily close its Rocky Hill Recreation Area for maintenance from March 9 until May 25.
  • Eastman Lake temporarily closes trail to protect nesting bald eagles

    Lakeview Trail at Eastman Lake near Madera will be temporarily closed immediately through July 31, 2012 to protect nesting bald eagles. Park rangers have posted closure signs on the trail at the Codorniz Recreation Area and Raymond Bridge trailheads.
