Public Notices

Under the Corps' Regulatory Program, a public notice is the primary method for advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought. Soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable impacts on the public interest. Public notices are also published to inform the public about new or proposed regulations, policies, guidance or permit procedures.

Public Notices published by the Sacramento District under the Regulatory Program are posted on this page. Once a public notice is available on-line, an email notification is sent to individuals on the appropriate mailing list.

Comments are due by the expiration date of the public notice.  Only comments submitted by email or in hard copy format through a delivery service, such as the U.S. Postal Service, can be accepted.   Comments must be submitted to the address listed in the public notice.

  • Public Notice for Actions Completed in December 2012

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, (Corps) has posted the final actions that were taken by the Sacramento District during the period 01 December through 31 December 2012 at http://www.spk.usace.army.mil/Missions/Regulatory/FinalActions.aspx. Relevant Environmental Documents, Statement of Findings and Record of Decisions are available upon written request pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act.
  • SPK-2012-00515 - Moffat County, CO

    Expiration date: 1/31/2013

    Colowyo Coal Company has applied for a permit to place fill material in approximately 1.185 acres of waters of the United States, as part of a proposal to expand existing surface coal mining operations. The proposed work is in and around four tributary waterways, located 4 miles west of the existing Colowyo Mine, 5731 State Highway 13, approximately 22 miles north of the Town of Meeker, Sixth Principal Meridian, located centrally at 40.27076° north latitude, -107.90231° west longitude, Moffat County, Colorado.

    The Corps is evaluating 14 permit applications for construction of 13 properties (collectively known as the participating parcels) on approximately 563 acres within the Elverta Specific Plan Area (Elverta SPA) project, as well as on-site and off-site infrastructure, which would result in impacts to approximately 27.57 acres of waters of the United States, including wetlands. This notice is to inform interested parties of the publishing of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Elverta SPA project; the location, date and time of the public meeting; and to solicit comments of the proposed activities. The approximately 1745-acre Elverta SPA project is located near Elverta Road and 16th Street, at Latitude 38.7146° North, Longitude 121.4330° West, Sacramento County, California.

    The Federal Highway Administration, Christopher Longley, has applied for a Section 404 permit to place dredged or fill material and/or work in approximately 2.97-acres of waters of the United States to improve a 9.5-mile section of Forest Highway 39 (Gooseberry Road). The Phase IV Gooseberry Road linear project is located in Sections 10, 15, 22, 26, 27, 34 and 35, Township 24 South, Range 2 East; Sections 2, 11, 13, 14, and 24, Township 25 South, Range 2 East, Salt Lake Meridian; between Latitude 38.67390°, Longitude -111.66915° and Latitude 38.7865°, Longitude -111.6368°, Sevier County, Utah.

    The City of Steamboat Springs has applied for a permit to place fill material in approximately 0.065 acres of waters of the United States to enhance whitewater recreation within a section of the Yampa River. The project area is an approximately 450 yard by 40 yard segment of the Yampa River, located between 9th and 12th streets in the City of Steamboat Springs within Section 8, Township 6 North, 84 West, Sixth Principal Meridian, Latitude 40°29’18”, -106°50’26”, Routt County, Colorado.
