  • Corps to host public meetings to update Pine Flat Lake master plan

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District will host public meetings Sept. 9-10 seeking input to update Pine Flat Lake and Dam’s master plan, which guides the management of natural and cultural resources and development of recreation-related facilities in and around the Corps-managed reservoir 35 miles east of Fresno.
  • Black Butte Lake is ready for guests

    Have no reservations -- there’s plenty of gorgeous blue water, camping and updated facilities ready for use at Black Butte Lake. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District recreation park near Orland now has 85,000 acre-feet of water -- seven times as much as the seasonal low from back when photos of the dry, cracked lakebed came to symbolize California’s drought.

  • Low water levels close Black Butte Lake’s Buckhorn boat ramp

    Due to low water conditions, Buckhorn boat ramp at Black Butte Lake, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park near Orland, has been closed. Boats may still be launched from the ramp in Eagle Pass Recreation Area and Buckhorn Campground remains open on a first-come basis throughout the winter.
