SACRAMENTO, Calif. - From now until April 30, it only costs $4 to camp at Englebright Lake near Smartsville.
Camping areas at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recreation area are reachable only by boat, which offers a truly secluded experience. Each spot has a picnic table, fire pit, lantern hanger, level tent spot and is a short walk to indoor restrooms. Drinking water is available at each boat launch.
It may be a bit chilly, but you can enjoy one of the region’s most unique camping experiences for one-fifth of the normal price. The lower rate is available until spring. Prices go back up to $20 a day on May 1.
Englebright Lake's camping areas are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Group picnic areas must still be reserved ahead of your visit and are not discounted during the winter.
