Truckee Meadows flood study draft documents now available for public review

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District released the draft general re-evaluation report and draft environmental impact statement for the Truckee Meadows flood control project for public review May 24, officially opening the 45-day public comment period.

Corps awards $255.1 million contract for Folsom Dam spillway’s final construction phase

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $255.1 million contract today to Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. of Fairfield to complete construction on the fourth phase of the new auxiliary spillway at Folsom Dam.

Corps releases inspection rating Sacramento River west bank levees

Inspections by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District rated maintenance of nearly 120 miles of levees along the Sacramento River’s west bank in Glenn and Colusa counties, Calif., as unacceptable.

Army to host public scoping meeting for MOTCO pier modernization

The U.S. Army Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, in collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will host a public scoping meeting April 24 in Concord to seek input for a draft environmental impact statement for the proposed modernization and repair of two piers at Military Ocean Terminal Concord.

Corps releases inspection ratings for Merced, Madera county levees

Inspections by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District rated maintenance of 10 levee systems in rural Merced and Madera counties in California unacceptable, and gave a minimally acceptable maintenance rating to one additional Merced County levee system.
