    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District is wrapping up levee construction across Sacramento's H Street Bridge and will need to maintain the temporary detours around the construction areas until project completion expected in September.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $3.1 million contract Sept. 4 to Hal Hays Construction Inc. of Riverside to install lightning protection systems at Military Ocean Terminal Concord near Concord.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $1.4 million contract Aug. 20 to Jacob Construction & Design Inc. of San Luis Obispo to replace approximately 2.8 acres of turf at the Presidio of Monterey with drought-resistant landscaping.   • Army Corps awards $5.5 million contract new Tooele wind turbine

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $5.5 million contract July 8 to Icenogle Construction Management Inc. of San Francisco to install a 2-megawatt wind turbine at Tooele Army Depot in Utah. Juhl Energy from Pipestone, Minn., is the lead design and installation subcontractor. Construction is scheduled to begin spring of 2015.
  • Blasting to periodically close Folsom Lake Crossing beginning July 10

    Folsom Lake Crossing will be closed weekdays during one of three one-hour windows beginning at 10 a.m., 1:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. beginning July 10 for blasting work to excavate portions of the new Folsom Dam auxiliary spillway approach channel.
  • Two more giant spillway gates set to arrive at Folsom Dam

    Two more giant gates for the new auxiliary spillway at Folsom Dam are scheduled to complete the 600-mile journey from Vancouver, Wash., to Folsom this month with the first one scheduled to arrive early in the morning Saturday, May 10. A second delivery this month is scheduled to arrive early in the morning on May 17.
