Army Corps awards $39 million for Camp Roberts satellite facility

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $39 million contract Sept. 3 to Watts Constructors LLC of Honolulu, Hawaii, to build satellite communication facilities at Camp Roberts, near Paso Robles.

The project will expand and improve existing facilities at the California Army National Guard training post for the U.S. Army’s Network Enterprise Technology Command. New facilities will include a 43,000-square-foot communication operations center and related administrative and repair buildings.  

Construction on the project is scheduled to start in November 2014, with completion expected by summer of 2016

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District provides planning, engineering, project management, environmental restoration and construction services to military and civilian customers in parts of eight western states, including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming.
