Corps to discuss potential project in Sacramento River watershed at public scoping meetings

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, Central Valley Flood Protection Board and the California Department of Water Resources will host public scoping meetings Nov. 3 and Nov. 9 to begin identifying flood risk reduction and ecosystem restoration opportunities along the Sacramento River.

Corps releases draft plan to extend riverbank erosion repair program

A plan to extend a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers program for repairing critical riverbank erosion sites is now available for public review as the Corps and California’s Central Valley Flood Protection Board released their draft post-authorization change report and environmental document for the Sacramento River Bank Protection Project.

Corps Central Valley-wide flood study resumes under new cost-share agreement

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, California’s Central Valley Flood Protection Board and the California Department of Water Resources signed a feasibility cost-share agreement amendment Aug. 30 for the Corps’ Central Valley Integrated Flood Management Study.

Corps releases inspection ratings for Cherokee Canal, east Sacramento River levees

Inspections by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District rated maintenance of more than 32 miles of levees along the Sacramento River’s east bank and levees along both sides of Cherokee Canal as unacceptable.
