  • Corps to discuss changes to Folsom Dam facilities at public meetings

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District will host public scoping meetings Feb. 19 and Feb. 24 to discuss and solicit comments for the Folsom Dam Raise Project.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District is scheduled to begin a 30-day public review period Jan. 17, following the release of its final general reevaluation report and environmental impact statement for the Truckee Meadows Flood Control Project.
  • Final Berryessa Creek report available for public review

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District today released its recommended plan to reduce flood risk from Berryessa Creek. The plan would build new flood walls and box culverts and widen the channel along a 2.2-mile stretch of the creek.

    California today became the 40th state to join the national Silver Jackets disaster coordination program. The program is designed to improve coordination, collaboration and communication among disaster-response agencies at all levels of government before a disaster strikes to hasten recovery.
  • Corps mobile command center heads for Colorado flooding

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District deployed a mobile command center –the deployable tactical operations system, or DTOS – to Aurora, Colo., Sept. 14 to assist in the federal government’s response to severe flooding throughout the state.
  • Truckee Meadows flood study draft documents now available for public review

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District released the draft general re-evaluation report and draft environmental impact statement for the Truckee Meadows flood control project for public review May 24, officially opening the 45-day public comment period.
  • Corps releases inspection rating Sacramento River west bank levees

    Inspections by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District rated maintenance of nearly 120 miles of levees along the Sacramento River’s west bank in Glenn and Colusa counties, Calif., as unacceptable.
