    Corps awards $21.6M contract for Fort Hunter Liggett microgrid

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $21.6 million construction contract April 12 to Ameresco of Framingham, Massachusetts to construct an electrical distribution microgird and 5 megawatt photovoltaic power generation at Fort Hunter Liggett. Ameresco is expected to break ground this spring and complete the project in 2021.

    Corps awards $19.46M contract for Hill AFB fuel distribution system, pump house

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $19.46 million construction contract March 29 to CTI Construction of Ogden, to replace an aging petroleum, oil and lubricants facility at Hill Air Force Base.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District will host a public meeting April 10 in Marysville to discuss construction plans for Phases 2B and 3 of the Marysville Ring Levee project.

    Corps awards contract for levee repairs along Feather River West Levee

    Repairs will soon be underway for nearly five miles of critically deficient Feather River west levee between Tudor Road and Cypress Avenue in south Sutter County. In late February, the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) issued a $35 million contract to Great Lakes E&I for its Sutter Basin Project, which involves the installation of cutoff walls as deep as 140 feet into the existing levee.

    Corps to discuss Success Dam enlargement project at Feb. 4 public meeting

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District will host a public meeting February 4 to discuss the re-initiation of the Tule River Spillway Enlargement Project, which received $74 million in appropriations in 2018 to raise Success Dam’s spillway up to 10 feet higher.

    Corps releases Environmental Assessment for proposed Oroville Temporary Debris Handling Facility

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, today released its Environmental Assessment for use of the former Koppers Inc. Plant in Oroville, California, as a temporary debris handling facility (TDHF) to stage, sort, process and transfer non-hazardous debris generated from the 2018 Camp Wildfire.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, in coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, today released its environmental assessment and finding of no significant impact for use of the Barber Industrial Site in Chico, California, as a debris handling facility to stage, sort, process and transfer non-hazardous debris generated from the 2018 Camp Wildfire.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers delivered to Congress its Fiscal Year 2019 work plan for the Army Civil Works program on Nov. 20, funding an additional $53.5 million to a handful of Sacramento District projects.

    Upcoming levee improvement work will force Garden Highway closure at Interstate 5 overpass

    Beginning as soon as late December, a section of Garden Highway will be closed to traffic for up to three weeks in order to improve a section of levee as part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ flood risk reduction project in the Natomas Basin.
