Public Notices

Under the Corps' Regulatory Program, a public notice is the primary method for advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought. Soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable impacts on the public interest. Public notices are also published to inform the public about new or proposed regulations, policies, guidance or permit procedures.

Public Notices published by the Sacramento District under the Regulatory Program are posted on this page. Once a public notice is available on-line, an email notification is sent to individuals on the appropriate mailing list.

Comments are due by the expiration date of the public notice.  Only comments submitted by email or in hard copy format through a delivery service, such as the U.S. Postal Service, can be accepted.   Comments must be submitted to the address listed in the public notice.

    Pantages at Discovery Bay, LLC, Mr. Dave Lazares has applied for a permit to work in approximately 5.5 acres of waters of the United States to dredge the left bank of Kellogg Creek, widen section of Kellogg Creek, and remove approximately 6,100 linear feet of the existing bank. Refer to the Project Description in the Public Notice. The approximately 176-acre project site is located along the west bank of Kellogg Creek, west of Discovery Bay, Latitude 37.9111°, Longitude -121.6080°, Contra Costa County, California., and can be seen on the CA-JERSEY ISLAND USGS Topographic Quadrangle.

    The State of California Department of Water Resources Bay-Delta Office and the United States Bureau of Reclamation Central Valley Operations Office has applied for a permit extension to increase water diversions out of Old River into the Clifton Court Forebay (CCF) to cover water supply reductions taken to protect sensitive fisheries. The maximum allowable daily diversion rate into the CCF during the months of July, August, and September of calendar years 2017-2020 would increase from 13,870 acre-feet (AF) to 14,860 AF and the maximum three-day average diversion rate would be increased from 13,250 AF to 14,240 AF (990 AF/day equivalent to 500 cubic feet per second per day). The project site is approximately six miles northwest of the City of Tracy, in Section 20, Township 1 South, Range 4 East, Latitude 37.82975°, Longitude -121.55685°, in Contra Costa County, California.

    Rio Tinto Kennecott Copper has applied for a permit to place fill material and/or work in approximately 1.57 acres of waters of the United States to construct a tailings impoundment abutment. The approximately 22-acre project site is located on the east side of the Kennecott North Tailings Impoundment, adjacent to Interstate 80, Latitude 40.74316°, Longitude -112.08359°, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, and can be seen on the UT-SALTAIR USGS Topographic Quadrangle.
