SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a contract April 19 for up to $3 million to T. L. Peterson Inc. of Red Bluff for work on 145 military recruiting stations the district manages throughout California, Nevada and Utah.

The contract provides for an indefinite quantity of supplies or services up to a value of $3 million over three years. The district only accesses the contract to pay the contractor for necessary construction activities like new construction, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation and energy-saving modifications that is not covered by stations’ building owners.

“We manage a lot of military recruiting stations,” said Wava Valdez, Sacramento District program manager. “Not having to create a separate contract every time one of them needs servicing saves taxpayers’ money.”

The district evaluates every transaction under the contract to ensure fair and reasonable pricing for the recruiting services program.

T. L. Peterson Inc. is a U.S. Small Business Administration 8(a)-designated small business. The Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program is designed to help small, disadvantaged businesses compete for federal contracts.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District provides planning, engineering, project management, environmental restoration and construction services to military and civilian customers in parts of eight western states, including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming.
