The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District has scheduled its first Restoration Advisory Board meeting for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 at the Sun City Lincoln Hills Community Association’s Orchard Creek Ballroom.
The Restoration Advisory Board, often referenced by its acronym—RAB, is a stakeholder group comprised of representatives from USACE, Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board, and 12 community members who serve on the board. The group will meet quarterly for focused and interactive discussions about the environmental restoration activities at the former Beale Air Force Base Titan 1-A facility in Lincoln, California.
Restoration Advisory Board members are selected with the goal of representing a broad range of community interests; however, RAB meetings will be open to the public and the board will welcome suggestions, concerns, and questions from the public.
The first meeting will focus on outlining the study objectives and status, reviewing the duties and responsibilities of RAB members, and selecting a community chairperson. A full agenda will be published 24 hours prior to the meeting on the project’s web page at www.Titan1ACleanup.com.
USACE is currently conducting a remedial investigation as part of its efforts to address trichloroethene (TCE) contamination near the former Titan 1-A, a nuclear missile site operated by the Department of Defense from 1962 to 1965.
