Corps parks seek volunteers for National Public Lands Day

Published Sept. 15, 2017

Interested in doing a day of volunteering to help maintain and clean-up the Sacramento District’s Parks? National Public Lands Day – an annual day of volunteer work across the nation – is Saturday, Sept. 30, and the following parks are looking for volunteers to put on work gloves and join hundreds of others volunteers intent on keeping our parks and public lands pristine.

Volunteer projects start in the morning with the work period usually lasting 3-5 hours. Day-use fees are waived for participants. Volunteers may also camp free at any of our parks either the night before or on public lands day.

National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands. For more than two decades, outdoor enthusiasts have come together to improve their local recreation areas by helping with landscaping, small construction projects, litter removal and trail maintenance.
