USACE awards $27.5 million contract for 2023 levee improvement work along Sacramento River East Levee

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $27.575 million construction contract on January 20, 2023, to Maloney Odin Joint Venture of Novato, for more than 2.6 miles of levee improvements at five locations along the Sacramento River East Levee between the I Street Bridge and just south of the town of Freeport.

USACE awards $40.9 million construction contract for Pocket-area levee improvements

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $40.9 million construction contract on December 22, 2021, to Maloney Odin Joint Venture of Novato, for 2 miles of levee improvements along the Sacramento River East Levee in Sacramento’s Pocket neighborhood. Construction in 2022 will entail installation of a seepage cutoff wall from Surfside Way at the northern end of down to Sump 132 at the Pocket Canal on the southern end.

Corps awards final contract for American River levee-gap fixes

The Sacramento District awarded the last construction contract to close gaps in cutoff walls along the lower American River in Sacramento on March 12. Work is expected to begin in April and end in September.

Sacramento’s H Street Bridge levee work starts in January, expect temporary delays

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District will be constructing levee walls across the H Street Bridge, requiring nighttime partial lane closures throughout January, beginning Friday Jan. 2, from around 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
