SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $739,530 contract Dec. 29 to Johnson Roofing & Construction Inc. of Ventura for roof repairs at the Defense Distribution Center Tracy.
Johnson Roofing & Construction will replace the roof on four small buildings at the depot.
“Keeping the distribution center’s facilities in good shape is an important part of making sure they can continue to support our service members overseas and at home,” said Duane Balch, project manager for the Sacramento District.
The project is scheduled to begin in January 2015 and is expected to be completed by spring 2015.
Johnson Roofing & Construction is a U.S. Small Business Administration 8(a)-designated small business. The Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program is designed to help small, disadvantaged businesses compete for federal contracts.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District provides planning, engineering, project management, environmental restoration and construction services to military and civilian customers in parts of eight western states, including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming.
