Army Corps awards $1.58 million contract for Moffett Field security building

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $1.58 million contract Sept. 23 to Zumwalt Construction, Inc. of Fresno to expand the security forces building at Moffett Field near Mountain View.

The security building is 14,500 square feet and will be expanded by 3,100 square feet. The building is used by the California Air National Guard who will use the additional space for training purposes.

Zumwalt is responsible for both design and construction of the expansion and the project is expected to be completed by fall 2015.

Zumwalt Construction is a designated small business under the U.S. Small Business Administration’s business size regulations. The federal government sets aside certain contract bid opportunities exclusively for small businesses.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District provides planning, engineering, project management, environmental restoration and construction services to military and civilian customers in parts of eight western states, including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming.
