SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $3.2 million contract Sept. 18 to Federal Solutions Group, Inc. of Dublin to construct an engineering and housing maintenance shop at Military Ocean Terminal Concord, better known as MOTCO.

MOTCO provides terminal and distribution services in support of deploying and re-deploying U.S. forces worldwide.  The new 8,000 square-foot engineering and housing maintenance shop will be constructed as part of the installation’s plan to modernize operations and facilities by 2020.

“The improvements we are doing here at MOTCO are critical for national security and we’re committed to getting them done as quickly as we possibly can,” said Peter Broderick, the Sacramento District’s MOTCO project manager. “These projects will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the work being done here so that they can continue to support the warfighter overseas.”

Construction is expected to begin in November and be complete in late summer 2015.

Federal Solutions Group, Inc. is a designated small business under the U.S. Small Business Administration’s business size regulations. The federal government sets aside certain contract bid opportunities exclusively for small businesses.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District provides planning, engineering, project management, environmental restoration and construction services to military and civilian customers in parts of eight western states, including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming.
