Army Corps awards $496K contract for Success Dam slide gate maintenance

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $496,762 contract Sept. 17 to Abide International Inc. of Sonoma to conduct routine maintenance on the slide gates at Success Dam near Porterville.

Maintenance work will consist of repairing and recoating the two service and two emergency gates. Existing coatings will be removed, minor corrosion damage will be repaired and the four gates and steel liner will be repainted.

Work is expected to begin in early October and be complete by late January 2015.

Abide International is a U.S. Small Business Administration-designated small business. The federal government sets aside certain contract bid opportunities exclusively for small businesses.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District provides planning, engineering, project management, environmental restoration, and construction services to military and civilian customers in parts of eight western states, including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming.
