SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District is evaluating a permit application from the Clark County Department of Public Works to construct the Las Vegas Wash - Sloan Channel to Bonanza Avenue project in Las Vegas.
The proposed project - located on the Las Vegas and Flamingo Washes through the Desert Rose Golf Course - would improve flood control functions by constructing concrete flood channels, lowering washes to allow for additional water capacity and modifying golf course structures to accommodate water flow.
The Corps seeks comments related to the proposal's probable impacts on the affected aquatic environment, and the secondary and cumulative effects. Comments received will be considered by the Corps for developing a final environmental impact statement and to determine whether to issue, modify, condition or deny a permit for this proposal.
The public notice outlining the project’s proposed environmental impacts was released for public review and comment July 24, 2013 and may be viewed at: http://1.usa.gov/14RizuP
