Corps awards $1.05 million for work at Hill Air Force Base

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $1.05 million contract Jan. 15 to Hal Hays Construction Inc. of Riverside for a new Hayman Igloo at Hill Air Force, Utah.

Once complete, the igloo will be used as a munitions storage module. The Sacramento District has completed several such igloos at the base, located 30 miles north of Salt Lake City.

“This project, and the ones before it, demonstrates the Corps’ continued support to the Air Force’s mission at Hill,” said Jason Redeen, resident engineer at the Sacramento District's Utah resident office.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District provides planning, engineering, project management, environmental restoration and construction services to military and civilian customers in parts of eight western states, including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming.
