Pine Flat Lake sets new day-use fee

Published Dec. 19, 2011
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Pine Flat Lake near Sanger will charge a day-use fee for park access beginning Jan. 1, 2012.

The park will charge $4 per vehicle, which covers the use of boat launches and access to the following developed recreation areas: Deer Creek, Island Park, Lake View and Trimmer. There will be no charge to visit the park’s undeveloped areas, which include Edison Point and Sycamore Creek. Previously, the park charged $3 for boat launch access only. Fees for camping at Pine Flat remain unchanged.

“We have to start charging this day-use fee so we can keep up with the costs of preserving our recreation areas,” said Pine Flat Lake park manager, Tom Ehrke. “Even with the newly established fee, Pine Flat Lake remains one of the most competitively priced parks in the area to visit.”

Pine Flat Lake is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District. The Corps is the nation’s largest federal provider of outdoor recreation, hosting more than 370 million visitors per year at 422 lakes and river parks.
