Tule River Spillway Enlargement Project

Contractors chip away at this hillside at Success Lake near Porterville, California, January 2021. The Tule River Spillway Enlargement Project includes relocating the road out of the spillway and the new road is taking shape further up the hillside. USACE will also widen the spillway and construct a 10-foot-high concrete Ogee Weir across it, which will increase storage capacity of the reservoir and improve flood risk management for the people downstream.
