Exploration Records Information Session

 

This free two-day training is designed to help our partners streamline their data management processes and ensure compliance with the Sacramento District's latest standards. We invite our engineering and geotechnical partners to join us to learn about our systems for managing exploration records and other critical data. Please register by February 2, 2026.

Schedule

Day 1 - Room 805/806 (February 10, 2026)

  • 08:00 – 08:30: Introduction
  • 08:30 – 09:30: USACE SPK Field Logging Standards / Guidance
  • 09:30 – 11:30: USACE Database of Record (OpenGround) and Associated Applications | 3rd Party Systems
  • 11:30 – 13:00: LUNCH
  • 13:00 – 14:00: USACE Database Structure
  • 14:00 – 16:30: Bulk Upload of Alternative Data Structures / Base Systems and Data Entry

Day 2 - Room 805/806 (February 11, 2026)

  • 08:00 – 10:00: Data Entry (cont.) / QA & QC
  • 10:00 – 12:00: Plan and Profile Integration (CAD)
  • 12:00 – 13:00: LUNCH
  • 13:00 – 14:30: Geotechnical Data Report(s) / Contract Documents
  • 14:30 – 16:30: Practical Exercise: Plan & Profile | Boring Records | Laboratory Data

Venue and Requirements

  • Security & Access: Please bring a valid government-issued photo ID, Real ID or equivalent such as passport, for security screening to access the building. All participants must be escorted from the lobby by USACE staff and stay with their escort at all times after passing through a security screening on entry to the building.
  • Parking: Parking is available at the City 14th & H Street “Memorial Garage” or other nearby locations. Visit SacPark for reduced daily rates.
  • Recommended Materials: For exercise participation, it is recommended that attendees bring a computer with OpenGround and AutoCAD Civil 3D installed.
