    Army Corps awards $9.6 million contract for energy project at Tooele

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $9.6 million contract Aug. 14 to CDM Constructors Inc. of Bellevue, Wash., for the design and construction of a 1.5 megawatt solar array at Tooele Army Depot in Tooele County, Utah.

    Corps begins American River levee project in Sacramento

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District has begun reinforcing and raising more than 4,000 feet of levee along the American River in Sacramento. The Howe Avenue Levee Raise project officially began July 25, and is now in full swing.

    Construction crews wrap up work on a new railroad bridge in Napa, Calif., on July 10, 2012. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers constructed a new bridge, elevating the tracks off the ground as much as six feet, in preparation for construction of a dry bypass channel that will divert water during flood events more quickly down the Napa River. The bridge was constructed as part of a $65 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 contract raised more than 3,300 feet of railroad track and replaced two bridges. The Napa River Flood Control Project is a joint effort of the Corps, city of Napa and the Napa Flood Control and Water Conservation District.

    Sacramento District wraps up vital Napa River ARRA construction contract

    Public comment period opens on Folsom Dam approach channel document

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District and the Central Valley Flood Protection Board released the draft supplemental environmental impact statement/environmental impact report for the Folsom Dam Modification Project Approach Channel on July 20 for public review.
