SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $1.08 million contract June 19 to Bara Infoware Inc. of San Ramon to replace the roof on Building 20 at Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin in Tracy.

The existing roof that covers the 78,000-square-foot warehouse building will be demolished and replaced with modern materials as part of the contract, said project manager Duane Balch.

Construction is scheduled to begin in August 2012 and take up to 180 days.

The depot is one of two West Coast hubs for military distribution activities, stocking items commonly ordered by the military services.

Bara Infoware Inc. is a U.S. Small Business Administration 8(a)-designated small business. The Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program is designed to help small, disadvantaged businesses compete for federal contracts.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District provides planning, engineering, project management, environmental restoration and construction services to military and civilian customers in parts of eight western states, including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming.
