SACRAMENTO, California – Civil War Days at the Knights Ferry Recreation Area is postponed as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The annual event performed by the American Civil War Association was scheduled to for the weekend of March 21-22, but recent recommendations from the local, state, and federal officials to limit social gatherings prompted the decision to postpone the event that is attended by hundreds of people every year.

The safety and health of the public is a main priority of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and all decisions to cancel, postpone, or reschedule public events are made using the most relevant information available at the time.

There has been no decision made on new dates for Civil War Days, but the information will be posted to the Corps of Engineers Sacramento District Website and social media accounts as soon as the event organizers and Stanislaus River Parks staff determine it is safe to go forward with this popular event.
