SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $1,766,000 contract Sept. 4 to Oneida Total Integrated Enterprises, LLC of Walnut Creek, California, to conduct cleanup and investigation at the Nike 10 missile battery near Travis Air Force Base in Solano County, Calif.

The work will include removing underground tanks, monitoring well installation, conducting soil and groundwater sampling and analysis, and identifying contaminated areas for future cleanup and restoration. Rights of entry may need to be obtained to access property in support of the investigation.

During the Cold War, the U.S. Army built and operated approximately 300 Nike missile firing batteries throughout the country, including near Travis AFB. Now the Corps is working to cleanup munitions and environmental impacts left as a result of these operations.

Oneida Total Integrated Enterprises is a designated small business under the U.S. Small Business Administration’s business size regulations. The federal government sets aside certain contract bid opportunities exclusively for small businesses.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District provides planning, engineering, project management, environmental restoration and construction services to military and civilian customers in parts of eight western states, including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming.
