Low water levels close Black Butte Lake’s Buckhorn boat ramp

Due to low water conditions, Buckhorn boat ramp at Black Butte Lake, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park near Orland, has been closed. Boats may still be launched from the ramp in Eagle Pass Recreation Area and Buckhorn Campground remains open on a first-come basis throughout the winter.

California today became the 40th state to join the national Silver Jackets disaster coordination program. The program is designed to improve coordination, collaboration and communication among disaster-response agencies at all levels of government before a disaster strikes to hasten recovery.

Army Corps awards $2.54 million contract for work at Defense Depot at Tracy

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $2.54 million contract Oct. 29 to Patriot Construction Inc. of Stockton for renovations to a facility at the Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin in Tracy.

Current and former U.S. armed forces members and their families are offered a free day in any Corps park on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. USACE began offering this recognition in 2006.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces closure of all regulatory offices due to federal government shutdown

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District today announced it has closed its seven regulatory offices in California, Utah, Nevada and Colorado due to the absence of available federal funding. Regulatory offices will be unable to evaluate individual permit applications, pre-construction notifications for nationwide permit or regional general permit authorizations, or requests for jurisdictional determinations until after current year funding is received and the offices reopen.

Folsom Lake Crossing to periodically close for blasting activities
