SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $116,531 contract to improve access to restroom facilities at Black Butte Lake, the Corps park near Orland.

Patterson Taber General Engineering of Marysville was awarded the contract Sept. 30, 2014.

The restroom facility near a popular shoreline access point in Buckhorn Recreation Area will receive interior modifications to better serve visitors with physical limitations, said Brad Long, Black Butte Lake park manager.

Work is scheduled to begin this year and may require a temporary closure of the facility.

The Sacramento District manages 10 parks and lakes in California. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is America’s largest provider of outdoor recreation opportunities on federal public lands, serving more than 370 million visitors annually at 422 lake and river recreation parks in 43 states.
