SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Families are invited to introduce their children 15 and younger to the fun of fishing during a free Kids Fishing Day, April 26, 2014, at Eastman Lake, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park near Raymond.
Hosted by Corps staff, registration opens at 8:30 a.m. in the lower parking lot of Chowchilla day use area.
Loaner fishing poles and a limited amount of bait will be provided on a first-come basis. Instruction in baiting, casting and water safety will be provided. A fishing license is not required for children 15 and younger.
All registered anglers and their families are invited to a free barbecue lunch at 11:30 a.m. A drawing for door prizes will follow lunch.
